PETE&C - Monday

Attending conferences is so exciting and also very exhausting. You are sitting still in a chair for several hours while your brain is running an education marathon. You are reflecting on your own practices. Then thinking about how you can change them. It really feels like ideas are bouncing around in their like a bunch of lightning bolts.

21st Century Skills

The 4C's (collaboration, creation, communication, and critical thinking) are skills that need to be embedded into all content areas. These skills are essential for our students to be successful in the work force.

Professional Development

We need to move away from the standard sit and get sessions. A blended approach is going to allow teachers to get what they need instead of what others think they need. I also feel that instructional coaches are necessary for job embedded PD. It makes PD in the moment, meaningful, and so much more powerful for the teachers and students.
